I am concerned about the 🌎.
(Truthfully) not really.
I'm concerned about me and mine (honorable mention to y-o-u). None of us truly have the capacity for a 🌎 that is "in His hands."
But frfr, I feel a way. (Can I say that?)
As believers, we are "supposed" to have delusional optimism. Joy unspeakable. Inside Out. But... In a Rich Homie Quan voice, I feel some type of way. I understand that speaking "christian-ese" in certain circles has some of us thinking we should only emote positivity...
So, I guess I can't say that this world smells like heartbreak, mildew, and a little Shug Avery pee?
I can't say that the lights of the world be flickering or the city set on a hill that cannot be hid looks like Vegas, and Sodom, and Midtown Atlanta... or that the 🧂 salt of the earth 🌎 has hypertension.
I guess I can't say that OUR world is a mess. "Christian" expectations would have us feel guilty about seeing what we see and acknowledging what is. For those in unprayerful denial...

This world is GHETTO ATF.
(My Daddy said I can't say bad words, so you get "Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms" instead of the acronym in my heart.)
But, yes. This world is GHETTO. It's rundown. Shaq's shoes are swinging from the power lines. Crackheads are trading double cheeseburgers for fentanyl and talcum powder (all of which will kill you). Kissin' cousins are in the trailor park playing "house." Somebody is yelling at God's daughter, "KEEP THAT BABY OUT THE STREET!" From Genesis to Revelation, we can see the effects. But not just in the book...
It's sad, discouraging, and really upsetting to those who would prefer to see Kingdom Come. We are all saying...
Q: "Eww...Brother? What's that brother?"
A: [Unintelligent Reply]
Complete and utter confusion.
Many of us are asking, "Lord, where are you?"
It's giving, "Maranatha!"
It's giving, "Come, Lord Jesus, Come."
It's giving, Jada Pinkett (pre-entanglement), "Lord, take ME now."
Meanwhile...
A God who cares looks down and permits a perfect world to break.
Whether we blame Adam or Eve, please know that He had the solution before the problem.
Baby Jesus (not from "Talladega Nights") existed long before the world began. In POWER and GLORY, as KING, and He WILL come again.
But not on our time.
The FATHER has His timing.
So, WHY did I say all that?
So, YOU know you aren't crazy or alone.
And because, well, I feel it too. We ALL do. If you are in this world, you know this is not our home or even what the Lord had in mind. He thought in beauty and spoke perfection into existence BEFORE the world began. WE were good. It was ALL good in His sight. We felt no pain, no hurt, no disappointment. There was no sickness, no death. We had a place. We had fellowship. And most importantly...
We had Him.
But still, the world would break and our hearts right along with it. We turned from hearing and believing, to seeing and doubting. We placed our confidence in what we could never put our trust in. We turned on Him, ourselves, and one another. We learned the cost of "seeing and believing" what was before us over BELIEVING OUR God.
And now soME of us are longing for rapture, and the closest thing you gon get is an Anita Baker album.
So... We prepare to stay. Why? Because escapism ain't gon get us where we want to be. Seated in heavenly places, yet agitated because they ran out of milk at the Wal-Mart, and you know that's where they are prone to fight. (SN: Don't be the least prepared member of the Body of Christ.)
We knew this world was ghetto when we gave the Lord our, "Yes." We knew we (ALL OF US) needed a Savior, THEE SAVIOR, way back then, and we need Him just as much today. If you are just realizing there is a sticky residue on the door knob to our heavenly home, then you have my heartfelt and shared concern, because it is truly ugly out here.
But in the words of the psalmists, our hearts, and the first mind of every believer who knows this isn't the end:
Q: "Do you feel the world is broken?"
A: "We do."
Q: "Do you wish that you could see it all made new?"
A: "We do."
And the 🌎 will one day begin again.
Revelation 21:1 says:
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more."
In chorus, if you're hurting, if you're struggling, if you are discouraged or fearful or in need of peace, please know that there IS a God who knows all about it. He sees all and has a MASTER PLAN for what has wounded our souls. For you, yours, and this world, He has what we need. He has, He IS more than enough to heal, redeem, and satisfy.
Despite the emphasis placed on Drake's BBL, presidential elections, crimes against humanity (foreign and domestic), and Little Debbie's newest snack cake... HE is still WORTHY of all blessing and honor and glory. He isn't done saving or healing. If you are looking around and see the issue, I don't want to dissuade you from seeing what you see... but fix your eyes.
The Lord is nigh. Be near to Him. Look at HIM.
In fixing our eyes, that is where we find perspective, power, peace, and help. In Luke 2:30, remember the words of the elder:
"For my eyes have seen your salvation[.]"
Remember your God. The smoke will clear. The dust will settle. He is and forever will be God.
This is HIS 🌎. We're just living in it.
