**I had a dream on March 7, 2021 during the early morning.**
DREAM INTERPRETATION IS AT THE END.
Denise Huxtable came home with Martin & Olivia. Denise & Martin had recently eloped; Denise was now a new mother & wife, possessing roles she did not yet know how to occupy. The lights are off in the living room, though the reason is not completely apparent. Denise goes in the house before Martin & Olivia. She is somewhat afraid of whether they would be received. Aunt Etta from "In the Heat of the Night" was sitting on the couch. Denise looks outside the front door to see Martin & Olivia approaching. The door isn't wide open, but slightly ajar. Martin, still approaching, says something to the effect of Denise not assuming they would be rejected, & Denise said something sarcastically like, "Maybe if we waited 2 years," implying her discomfort & the newness of the situation.
Martin & Olivia enter the dark room & are welcomed without any show of ill-will or lack of hospitality. The welcome was not in word, but rather just a knowledge that they had a place there.
Denise's father is now in the scene & has some trouble with some of the white managers he employs. The managers have hostile attitudes & are ruining the father's business. Denise, Martin & Olivia have come to the home of the father, because they have fell on hard times. Martin needed a job. He was in the military, but was not making ends meet due to the government having a new list of priorities. Olivia remarked that she just wanted a bed.
Aunt Etta said there was nothing to be ashamed about, & she was praying she didn't get that "call" herself. I took this to mean she hoped she didn't get fired or her usefulness become undervalued in society. Denise said she was willing to work, but didn't have a college degree. Her father made a way for Martin to be in his employ & receive a leadership position. Martin's elevation worked to meet both needs, as the unexpected son-in-law showing up was a matter of perfect timing. Martin was eager to study for the interview process, as he was used to earning his opportunities, but Denise's father, now his father-in-law, graced him with the opportunity without having to strive for his acceptance.
SCRIPTURE
Psalm 127:1 - Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
Joshua 15:18-19 - Now it was so, when she came to him, that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, “What do you wish?” She answered, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.
CHARACTERS / SYMBOLS
Denise (Symbol of the Church): Bride, daughter with a new identity who returned home to her Father after connecting with a covering that was not able to sustain her during an economic/financial crisis.
Martin (Black man in America): The setting is governmental/national upheaval with less military significance due to the economic climate. This black man in need of opportunity during an economic crisis is favored by God & put in position where others neglected their responsibilities & oppressed others. Martin is also the Priest or covering for a new bride & impoverished youth. He is honored as a son due to the connection to his bride, gaining access to the Father.
Olivia: Inexperienced believers in need of stability, a new home, familial support found in the body of Christ. She desires rest & peace, though she has an abundance of other needs she is not mature enough to be aware of yet.
The Father (God the Father / Perfect Father): He put many in position who were not only neglecting their responsibilities & oppressing others, but misrepresenting His purpose & character. There is a changing of the guard.
Aunt Etta: Wisdom/Experience of old in place to help steer the young & inexperienced during a season of darkness & turmoil.
